Galicia and the Ria of Arosa
"Before I came to Galicia, I didn’t know very much about it and I didn’t know anybody here. It was daunting because I did not speak any Spanish before I arrived and I thought that I would find it very difficult to fit in and find my place. I was so wrong. The Galician people have been nothing but welcoming and wonderful to me. I have met some of the most amazing and generous people, especially the family that I am living with. My host family has made me feel like I am really part of the family and their friend group and extended family have welcomed me with open arms. Everybody has been very patient and put a lot of effort into getting to know me even with a language barrier in some cases. My family has introduced me to the Galician culture, the delicious food and has helped me learn some Spanish. Galicia is truly a beautiful place, with white sand beaches and turquoise seas, green countryside and forests, clear rivers and beautiful old architecture. I highly recommend visiting Spain and choosing Patti at North West of Spain to help you on your journey. I feel incredibly lucky and grateful for this experience."

This coastline is frayed up and down its 1200km length by majestic Rias ("Rías Altas" and "Rías Bajas"). “North West” is based in the heart of Rías Bajas, in a town called Villagarcía de Arosa.
